Don’t Apologise When you Have done NOTHING wrong; being tazed must *f* with your head

Andrew Meyer apologizes to University of Florida students and officials for his ‘conduct’ at the Kerry speech.

Excuse me? What exactly does he have to apologize for? It is Senator Kerry and his faux security guards that should be apologizing.

Simply put if we followed the ‘Kerry Doctrine’ when questioning our leaders we would be forced to surrender all of our rights. We don’t need their permission to ask what sorts of activities they are involved in. They, on the other hand, need OUR permission to STAY IN office at re-election time. Perhaps this will ring a bell, “the right to petition our government for a redress of grievances”? If it doesn’t, I pity and loathe you at the same time.

It is one of our unalienable rights to be able to question our leaders. Andrew was not acting violently, was clearly not brandishing a weapon of any sorts and was able to show documentation for the rationale behind his questions [on the YouTube videos you can see him holding his evidence].

As I blogged when this incident took place, this is clear evidence of a rising Fascism in favor of the political elite. Very soon very basic rights, like freedom of association, movement or pursuit of happiness could be curtailed under the name of ’security’.

Is asking whether or not our leaders are part of the New World Order REALLY a threat to National Security? Was Andrews question regarding Kerry’s involvement in the same secret society at Harvard, the Skull and Crossbones Society, as George W. Bush really a threat that could only be remedied by tazering and forcible removal?

NO!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

What isn’t being talked about here is how Meyer’s was coerced into giving up his rights. He would win if he choose to fight his charges. But based on his actions, it appears he is taking a plea bargain to avoid costly litigation. The Independent Gator notes that he accepted an  eighteen month probation for charges that he should have fought. This ‘letter of apology’ was undoubtedly part of his bargain to stay in school at the University of Florida and to fend of more serious and trumped up charges for ‘assaulting a public official’.

In short, the Independent Florida Alligator is complacent as a participant in the Government/Media Complex. By failing to dig deeper into this story they have failed to show the true story of corruption and abuse of our civil liberties.

Whatever, that is their choice to make. Not mine, yours or anyones. We probably would have made the same choice. But I fear we have already given up far too many liberties in order to avoid ‘rocking the boat’.  It is the Gators right NOT to cause unrest on the campus by asking these questions. But if everyone avoids questioning our leaders in order to promote a sense of ‘decency’ then who will be able to ask questions when a problem DOES need addressed?

To many Andrew’s tazering was justified because he was ‘rambling’ or ‘asking conspiratorial questions’. Would you feel the same way if he was asking why Kerry authorized the execution of a family member? To accept the ‘Kerry Doctrine’ is to accept this premise. And that, my friends, is a path we cannot allow ourselves to go down in a free society.

Andrew is a true patriot. We can all gain an understanding of our role in society by understanding that free speech is only meaningful if actually used.

Turning The Tide Against Welfare

Few things get me as riled up when it comes to politics as does the subject of welfare. Being a conservative, libertarian leaning individual you can pretty much guess my stance on the subject. I find welfare patently offensive to the many taxpayers that have to be overtaxed to support the leeches of society. But, it seems, the tide may be finally turning against welfare. And in my mind, that is a real blessing in disguise.

Last week, House Democrats desperately tried to revive an expansion of the the SCHIP bill which will enable millions of citizens to cancel their private health insurance and the government, meaning you the taxpayers, foot the bill for their healthcare. Republicans, showing an unusual amount of spine left, stood and said, “hell no”. Maybe it was motivated, in part, to ‘heal’ their wounds with the conservative base of the party. Whatever the reason, it high time they did so.

And now this story comes on on the New York Times.

NY area landlords are quite simply saying, ‘those with section 8 housing vouchers need not apply’.

HALLELUJAH!

It is about time that business wise up to the fact that dependency on government handout for profit does little to maximize the value of your market return. Let me put it this way, why rent an apartment for $1500 a month with a tenant who will not take care of it versus and tenant who will pay $2500 a month AND make sure it exemplifies the standard of life that they wish to live. You would be asinine to accept option 1 unless your business model was intended to operate as a charity, something in a free market, you are more than able to do.

But that is not the point. The point is that until recently and landlords have had to operate their business models under a ‘charity’ guideline. At least that was until they found out that, no, if fact, you do not have to accept ‘vouchers’ from the Department of Public Housing.

And guess what, the results are general improvement all the way around.

The University of California has a study out, available here [caution, large PDF file], that notes that the less of an influence Section 8 vouchers have in a local housing market, the higher property values are likely to be and general economic conditions are more prone to be better.

How else can you word this? If you want to promote a better quality of life in your neighborhood, in your investment, or your community you would be wise to promote all individuals to be self-reliant. Build your local economy up rather than build your welfare rolls up. If you teach a man to fish……

“A rising tide lifts all boats”- Ronald Reagan

What about the poor among us? They have made their own life choices, for the most part, that have put them in the situations they are in. Why should we take pity on the drug addict when they are the ones whom continue to seek out heroin? Why should we fret over the homeless when they refuse to find a job?

But those are side points, a reflective of the most common objections to welfare. I would argue this: by building your local economy up you are going to be helping those our more than would a traditional welfare program.

How so? As local economic conditions improve so will business opportunities and different elements of the community find new markets. New businesses require new workers, workers that, under the old welfare model, would still be wards of the state. Under the economic model, they are now self-fulfilled individuals in charge of their own affairs.

What motivation is there for someone receiving welfare to improve their lives, if by improving their lives they lose their monthly rent check? Their monthly grocery stipend? There is no motivation. But if their local economy is built to benefit all, the opportunities for that same individual far out pace that which any government program could provide.

An anchor that is too heavy, it would seem, would cause the boat to capsize. A lesson that we all could benefit from to improve our local surroundings.

Constitution Days

One writer calls for monthly ’strikes’ for the constitution. Good idea, but I fear the New World Order is already much too far in control of this country for it to have any real effect.

(22) BSU breaks the top 25!

Overcoming our ealier loss to Washington, Boise State breaks into the ranks of the Top 25 football teams this week. We are in good company, in between South Florida and Kentucky in the USA today poll, and Wake Forest and South Carolina in the AP. Count me in as at least one Bronco fan that would love for us to face any of those teams in a bowl game.

Full poll results, here.

Who is asking the questions? Who is our watchdog?

Government, tired of dealing with pesky reporters and embarrassing questions is now turning to a new tactic: just stage a press conference so only those questions gets asked which reinforce the Agenda.

Proof Source: FEMA blasted for ‘news’ conference

The New World Order is testing our response to an eventual takeover of the media by the government.  Influence and control is very rarely clean and direct. Shades of grey rule our world. Our media is the social engineer, the government its agenda setter.

The news cooperations love these ‘VNR’s [video-news-releases]. Its easy, convientient and quick. A short news story to plug inbetween a report on your local fair and the Weather Center 5000. It lowers their production costs and helps make them appear ‘legitimate’ by having big-boy reports on Washington, DC.

With no legimate sources of media to question government the net will be paramount to the free exchange of information. Bloggers and online news sites will have to ask the difficult questions the mainsream media is supposed to ask. But we already know the Government/Media Complex is two steps ahead of us.

The implementation of Corperate Gatekeepers on the net is all but complete. Very soon many of your favorite sites will start being filtered by your ISP over ‘badwidth concerns’ or ‘lack of a profit sharing agreement’.  It is not unrealistic to be concered many of these corperations will start filtering the ‘message’ they allow through to fend off regulations by the FCC.

In other words, the free exchange of ideas would soon be all but dead if the Government PR machine has its way. What right to ‘petition your government for a redress of greviences’ do you have if you don’t even have the right to hold your leaders accountable? VNR’s , or ’self-reporting’ on the part of government, is the ultimate corrosion of the first amendment and is the most dangerous social engineering tool available to the Government/Media Complex.

Without the net my freinds, very soon all your media may well be designed to elicit your complacency, and thus control.

 Isn’t progress great?

College Football Games Of Note For The Weekend of October 27th

The Heisman Bet Games-

(14) USC v (5) Oregon- Booty needs game time to get back into Heisman contention. Will he play? Signals from USC indicate that might be a possibility. If so, Oregon will need everything it has to stay in the game. An upset win here could indicate a shifting of powers in the PAC-10 from California to Oregon and Washington. Watch Dixon, QB for Oregon, as he vaults up the Heisman polling should that be the case here.

Floridia International v Arkansas- Ok, as you could see from the Hesisman polling link above Darren McFadden is falling abit in the polling. He isn’t breaking bigger yards per carry gains, and his teams win/loss record is not befitting for a Trophy winner. Arkansas will win here, but Darren needs to ’show us something’ to boost his projected NFL draft status.

The SEC Games- (Admit it, you <3 SEC football ; p)

Mississippi State v (14) Kentucky- I like the Wildcats. I has harsh on them to start the year, untill I got a chance to actually watch them. They are mighty impresive. MSU gives up too many points to stay in the game with Kentucky’s Woodson gunning at the helm. Look for the Wildcats to rebound from last weeks loss at Floridia.

(18) Georgia v (11) Florida- Tim Tebow jumped in the Heisman polling after last weeks game, and rightfully so. He was bothered by a sore shoulder this week, will he break down in the streach? I like Floridia in this game, however look for Tebow to struggle against Georgia’s defense.

Mississippi v (22) Auburn- I don’t find Auburn all that exciting, but they should win this one.

(16) South Carolina v Tennessee- If I had ESPN, this would be my must-watch game of the week. I think Ainge might be one of the best passers in the SEC, the Steve Spurrier defense will make him look shakey this week. I will take Tennessee for a win, both teams are coming off a loss and Tennessee’s offense seems more primed for a quick rebound.

The PAC-10 Games-

(14) USC v (5) Oregon has already been covered, see my game leadup posts.

(21) Cal v (4) Arizona State- Arizona doesnt give up points and scores plenty. This game will be a showdown between a strong passing game in A.S.U. and a dominant run game in Cal. Strong run games control the clock and tempo of the game. The average game points scored between these two teams is even, but take Cal in an upset win.

The Big 12 Games-

(9) Kansas v Texas A&M- The Jawhawks are rated way to high, but don’t look for any reason to knock them down this week. They roll on with a win.

Iowa State v (13) Missouri- The Big 12 should be called the Big Yawn. Missouri wins.

Nebraska v (19) Texas- Finally, a good Big 12 game. All thing even, Texas has a slight advantage in the passing and rushing game. Plus, they play at home. Hook em horns.

The Big 10 Games-

(1) Ohio State v (25) Penn State- I dont like Joe Pa’s team. I just don’t. He’s a crazy road-rage old man. And well, Ohio State really is that good, …. again.  Jim Tressel should be able to overcome Penn’s D and home-field. No word yet if Joe Pa needs a nap at halftime. Just kidding. Besides, OSU has only given up 63 points all year. Really.

Minnesota v (20) Michigian- Somehow, the Wolveriens have snuck back into the top 25.  Sorry, they don’t deserve it. A loss to App State is killer. But they will roll on playing at home, that stadium is huge.

The Big East Games-

(7) West Virginia v Rutgers- The Big East is just yummy. Really. They need some more defense in the league, but otherwise its great TV.  Another passing/rushing matchup. WV is 2nd in the nation in rushing yardage, while Rutgers is 16th in passing yards. Take WV for its defense and ability to control the clock with the run game.

(10) South Florida v (23) Connecticut- Bulls will play with a chip on their should after a loss that took them from #2 to #10. Look for a re-bound game against an overrated UConn.

The ACC Games-

(2) BC has already beat (8) Virgina Tech 14-10. BC scored all its points in the last quater led by Quaterback Matt Ryan who should continue to jump in the Heisman polling after this games performance. Boston is starting to look like Sports-Ville, USA.

(15) Virginia v N.C. State- Cavaliers roll on.

The Wac Games-

New Mexico State v (17) Hawaii- everyone knocks on the WAC becuase its a passing game only league with no defense. Well, you find a need for hiring a coaching staff and spending practice time on defense when you have teams like NMS, UofI, SDS in your league.

And Finally My Boise State Broncos

BSU v Fresno- Ian Johnson is ‘hurt’ and might not play this week. Or so says the crafty shmafty Coach Pete. I think its a rouse. I think I. J. will play. We will need him, Fresno always gives us trouble.

(12) USC v (5) Oregon countdown- 1 day

Todays Topic: The intangables

USC- Coach Pete Carrol- lifetime record NCAA 71-13, this year 6-1. He has a 4-2 bowl game record and a 4-1 BCS game record. He also coached and played in the NFL, although less spetacular there going 33-31. Still NFL level experience and he is coaching a college team? No wonder USC is so good, I mean despite their recruting, conferance and home field advantages. Here is the Wiki link on him.

ORE- Coach Mike Bellotti- lifetime record NCAA 101-49, this year 6-1. He has 4 bowl game wins, one of them a BCS win. He played at the college level, but has no NFL experience, coaching or otherwise. His Wiki can be vandalised here.

USC- signiture win this year so far- won at then ranked (14) Nebraska 49-31.

ORE- signiture win this year so far- won at Michigian 39-7.

Autzen Stadium is widly considered to be one of the loudest places to play in Division I football.

USC- there are 24 seniors on the Trojans

ORE- there are 21 seniors on the Ducks

USC- a fierce warrior mascot, colors red and yellow, nice uniforms

ORE- a cartoon duck, green and yellow, with a guady ‘metal plate’ design in their uni’s

Advantage- “Autzen Stadium is one of the loudest places I have ever played” Michigian Head Coach Lloyd Carr. Oregon will need to exploit this home field advantage for all its worth to overcome the superior coaching of Pete Carroll who has mastered better wins this year with more returning talant. USC advantage.

USC- 2
Oregon- 2
Push- 1

Tuesday- Rushing corps

Wednesday- Receiving corps

Vacant Homes, A Insurance Nightmare?

The recent downturn in the housing market is causing many people to sweat out some tight times waiting for their home to sell. Not to be the bearer of bad news- but their is a situation developing that I predict will see rising amounts of scruitiny and press coverage in the coming days.

Most of the major homeowners insurance providers will only cover a ‘vacant’ (i.e. your not living in it) home for about 30 days, after that they mid-term cancel your policies, the law in Idaho gives the homeowner 45 days to find new coverage before they are cut off.

Given that most people in the Treasure Valley market right now are facing a 6-9 month average house market time, this may be a situation that merits your attention. A possibility may be to re-write your homeowner policy into a Rental Dwelling policy, depending on your carrierers underwriting rules or to obtain coverage from a ‘high-risk’ carrier.

It’s a cold, callous and cynical viewpoint that the insurance providers are putting homeoweners in. What recourse to they have against a market that cannot move homes? None. This is a problem that was intentionally created by the high-risk mortgage industry to further puff up their profit margins as they know have justification to spike mortgage rates due to ‘increased market turbulance’.

If you have a home on the market you also know your home really isn’t ‘vacant’- often times they are more visited by Realators, potential buyers and the owners of the home for sale than many of the cabins and second homes that these same homowners insurance providers also cover.

But- there is increased risk in a vacent home- crime, vandalism… Let us hope that the market finds a way to address this issue. Untill then, it seems, this will be salt in the the wound of many people stuck in the current housing slump.

(12) USC v (5) Oregon countdown- 2 days

Today- Defensive Analysis

USC- has given up 116 points this year, about 16.5 points a game

ORE- has given up 158 points this year, about 22.5 points a game

USC- has given up 64 rushing, 188 passing for 252 total yards a game

ORE- has given up 143 rushing, 253 passing for 396 total yards a game

USC- 6 interceptions with 71 intception return yards

ORE- 9 interceptions with 153 interception return yards

USC is a clear favorite to dominate and control the game’s pace and tempo. Oregon will have to use its home field advantage to create turnover opportunities to keep their club in the game.

Advantage- Look for USC’s defensive ability to stifle Dixon’s playmaking ability.

USC- 1
Oregon- 2
Push- 1

Coverage of the Game:
