College Football Games Of Note For The Weekend of October 27th

The Heisman Bet Games-

(14) USC v (5) Oregon- Booty needs game time to get back into Heisman contention. Will he play? Signals from USC indicate that might be a possibility. If so, Oregon will need everything it has to stay in the game. An upset win here could indicate a shifting of powers in the PAC-10 from California to Oregon and Washington. Watch Dixon, QB for Oregon, as he vaults up the Heisman polling should that be the case here.

Floridia International v Arkansas- Ok, as you could see from the Hesisman polling link above Darren McFadden is falling abit in the polling. He isn’t breaking bigger yards per carry gains, and his teams win/loss record is not befitting for a Trophy winner. Arkansas will win here, but Darren needs to ’show us something’ to boost his projected NFL draft status.

The SEC Games- (Admit it, you <3 SEC football ; p)

Mississippi State v (14) Kentucky- I like the Wildcats. I has harsh on them to start the year, untill I got a chance to actually watch them. They are mighty impresive. MSU gives up too many points to stay in the game with Kentucky’s Woodson gunning at the helm. Look for the Wildcats to rebound from last weeks loss at Floridia.

(18) Georgia v (11) Florida- Tim Tebow jumped in the Heisman polling after last weeks game, and rightfully so. He was bothered by a sore shoulder this week, will he break down in the streach? I like Floridia in this game, however look for Tebow to struggle against Georgia’s defense.

Mississippi v (22) Auburn- I don’t find Auburn all that exciting, but they should win this one.

(16) South Carolina v Tennessee- If I had ESPN, this would be my must-watch game of the week. I think Ainge might be one of the best passers in the SEC, the Steve Spurrier defense will make him look shakey this week. I will take Tennessee for a win, both teams are coming off a loss and Tennessee’s offense seems more primed for a quick rebound.

The PAC-10 Games-

(14) USC v (5) Oregon has already been covered, see my game leadup posts.

(21) Cal v (4) Arizona State- Arizona doesnt give up points and scores plenty. This game will be a showdown between a strong passing game in A.S.U. and a dominant run game in Cal. Strong run games control the clock and tempo of the game. The average game points scored between these two teams is even, but take Cal in an upset win.

The Big 12 Games-

(9) Kansas v Texas A&M- The Jawhawks are rated way to high, but don’t look for any reason to knock them down this week. They roll on with a win.

Iowa State v (13) Missouri- The Big 12 should be called the Big Yawn. Missouri wins.

Nebraska v (19) Texas- Finally, a good Big 12 game. All thing even, Texas has a slight advantage in the passing and rushing game. Plus, they play at home. Hook em horns.

The Big 10 Games-

(1) Ohio State v (25) Penn State- I dont like Joe Pa’s team. I just don’t. He’s a crazy road-rage old man. And well, Ohio State really is that good, …. again.  Jim Tressel should be able to overcome Penn’s D and home-field. No word yet if Joe Pa needs a nap at halftime. Just kidding. Besides, OSU has only given up 63 points all year. Really.

Minnesota v (20) Michigian- Somehow, the Wolveriens have snuck back into the top 25.  Sorry, they don’t deserve it. A loss to App State is killer. But they will roll on playing at home, that stadium is huge.

The Big East Games-

(7) West Virginia v Rutgers- The Big East is just yummy. Really. They need some more defense in the league, but otherwise its great TV.  Another passing/rushing matchup. WV is 2nd in the nation in rushing yardage, while Rutgers is 16th in passing yards. Take WV for its defense and ability to control the clock with the run game.

(10) South Florida v (23) Connecticut- Bulls will play with a chip on their should after a loss that took them from #2 to #10. Look for a re-bound game against an overrated UConn.

The ACC Games-

(2) BC has already beat (8) Virgina Tech 14-10. BC scored all its points in the last quater led by Quaterback Matt Ryan who should continue to jump in the Heisman polling after this games performance. Boston is starting to look like Sports-Ville, USA.

(15) Virginia v N.C. State- Cavaliers roll on.

The Wac Games-

New Mexico State v (17) Hawaii- everyone knocks on the WAC becuase its a passing game only league with no defense. Well, you find a need for hiring a coaching staff and spending practice time on defense when you have teams like NMS, UofI, SDS in your league.

And Finally My Boise State Broncos

BSU v Fresno- Ian Johnson is ‘hurt’ and might not play this week. Or so says the crafty shmafty Coach Pete. I think its a rouse. I think I. J. will play. We will need him, Fresno always gives us trouble.
