All that $4 a gallon gas, because Congress spends like drunken sailors

Let me start this post out with a caveat: I am not anti-profit, In fact it’s a man’s right to grow a business for his own gain, irrespective of good will toward others. I do not think we ‘owe’ anyone anything else by the mere fact of our existence. Ayn Rand’s, “Atlas Shrugged” is a pinnacle of my economic and tax beliefs.

But, and you all knew this was coming, I couldn’t help but seethe with rage at a headline on CNN this morning:

Exxon Posts Record $11.68 Billion Profit

And then on Drudge:

Shell Reports 33% Rise In Profit (that would be $11.56 Billion, btw…)

Eni and Repsol also have gotten profits in the billions.

So let me ask this, do you really think that supply and demand created a market for $4 a gallon gas? I find that extremely hard to believe, almost incredulous, that at a time when roughly 5-7% of the mortgages in the United States are in default, at a time when personal consumer debt has never been higher, at a time when inflation is affecting food costs beyond most families’ ability to control the budget, that a market would be created for over consumption of fuel.

So, pardon my french, but what the hell is going on here?

In other words, our nation’s debt is causing our domestic inflation because our dollar can purchase less goods in the global market. Makes you just feel all peachy-keen wonderful about our nation borrowing money from China to pay for the war in Iraq, the economic stimulus and most recently the federal mortgage bailout bill. Shoring up the strength of our domestic economy, not trade from foreign nations, is the only way we can get our of this mess. Until then, enjoy paying $4 for gas and $5 for a loaf of bread.

FCC Board Member: keep the net free [meaning run by corperate gatekeepers]

In a blatant expose of the government media complex the WaPo has embraced the FCC’s version of the “free net”. The “free net” that has gatekeepers to regulate, monitor and filter out the sites you visit, the content you download and the use of your internet connection.

Remember: telecoms are now granted immunity to cooperate with the governments agenda. We must assume ISP’s are complicit in this as well. If we allow gatekeepers on the net, the last vestige of the free media will be lost. How soon will it be before your ISP’s cooperate with the government and start “filtering out” unwanted political dissent and discussion?

We must assume a backroom deal is being made here. The government is offering this to the ISP’s: cooperate with our desired policies and we will allow you to filter content to manage your under capacity network. This may well be the biggest win for the government-media complex when seen through the prism of history.

Spooky- Barack calls us “citizens of the world”

Is he running for President of the World? More proof that B. Hussein will not just support but embrace and enforce the New World Order global fascism.

Look at the overtones, the threat to the sovereignty of the United States, that Barack supports:

“In this new world, such dangerous currents have swept along faster than our efforts to contain them. That is why we cannot afford to be divided. No one nation, no matter how large or powerful, can defeat such challenges alone”

“But the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together. A change of leadership in Washington will not lift this burden. In this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more- not less. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice; it is the only way, the only way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity.”

“This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all.”

You see, to the liberal socialist-fascists of the ilk of Senator Barack Obama the Constitution is not the rule of law. Sovereignty is only relevant if it works in accordance with “humanity”.

Let me put it this way: our constitutional rights, our God given rights, the rights our Founders formed a government to protect, will be assaulted under the Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama if those rights do not support and embrace an “equitable” and “fair” global society.

Look at his own words- “global citizenship”, “partnership and cooperation not being a choice”. We, the American taxpayer, must “do more” for global social and economic problems.

My friends, I ask again: is he running for President of the United States or of the world? Barack is mocking us, mocking our Constitution, mocking the free markets. He blames you for the world’s problems. He is running a traitorous campaign to be the President of the United States and it is inherent that he does not respect the rationale of the founders.

Unfortunately for him the laws of the United State must come under the direct obedience of the Constitution of the United States.  No President, no matter how powerful, will ever have the authority to surrender the Constitution and make it a subject of the United Nations.  At least as long a we remain a society free to object to fascism and to stand up for our inherent rights and guarantees against government interference.

Barack would rule the world like a King. No amount of limitations would be tossed aside in the pursuit of “humanity”. History makes an excellent judge of Obama’s character, and can also serve as a measure by which we can judge Obama’s vision.

You see, the Founders specifically rejected the idea of “global citizenship” or “global governance”. One need look no further that the preface to the Declaration of Independence as our standard:

“When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God entitle them….”

In other words: it is our inalienable right to be free and separate from the rest of the world’s governments in order to protect our liberties and freedoms. Our “connections” with others IS breakable and necessary. The Founders rejected entanglements and obligations with humanity. Our Founders rejected the idea of rule by decree, a rule by King. We must assume Barack would have us reject the Constitution. His own words spell out this philosophy.

Even WaPo.com is calling this, “The New Socialism”. Spooky.

Congress hears voters ANGER- working towards $80 a barrell oil

Too bad more issues of public policy can’t decided with only four months till election day..

Be relieved- real economic relief is on the way. The cost of of gasoline should run about $2.50 a gallon if Congress actually accomplishes something (and believe me, with only 120ish days till the election, they will get this done).

In its own way, the free market worked. Demand eased off and prices fell. For now, our budgets can finally breath again.

In the meantime, get your finances in order. Because until we have more domestic drilling and production we will still be at the mercy of OPEC. Short of heavily regulating speculators, their is precious little we can do unless we can find another source for crude.

If we, like sheep, vote in the same old, same old with no demand for real domestic energy the next time an oil spike hits it could very well destroy the economy. Are you really willing to sit by and let that happen? Is your families budget really prepared to pay upwards of $4-5 and beyond for gas? If we don’t make this the only issue of relevance in November, that is exactly what will happen.

The Price Of Oil Is Plummeting, Why Isn’t The Price of gas? Also, A Global conspiracy

The price of oil has dropped nearly $20 a barrel over the past week and a half.

So I ask this: when is the price at the pump going to reflect this?

If you do the math, as reflected in the analysis, we should be paying roughly $3.50 a gallon at the moment.

The American public is hurting badly because of these ridiculous, outrageous and economically barbaric gasoline prices. Look, we all have to drive, but that doesn’t mean we have be muted in our consumerism. Let me put it this way: gas stations don’t make much, if anything, off the sale of gas. Most of their profits come from convenience store sales.

Hit them where it hurts, refuse to buy anything from the convenience store until they lower the price per gallon to reflect the falling crude oil price. They are so quick to raise the price, often several times a day, when the price per barrel rises, and yet suddenly gain inspiration from molasses when consumers react to the pain at the pump.

Enough is enough. Its time to revolt.


On another note, add this post on Volokh as more proof of the unconstitutional agenda of the United Nations.

Of the subject here is the Second Amendment. Let us hope the bright legal brains will soon realize that the United Nations is against nearly ALL of our Constitutional guarantees and rights.The U.N. would strip us of our constitutionally guaranteed civil rights in favor of “human rights”.  Human rights are of course the desired end game of every socialist and communist out there. The differences on how government should be run could not be clearer when studying these two foundations of government. It is time we start questioning our complicity with the coming global fascism and get involved with efforts to restore American sovereignty.

At times like this, it makes me unquestionably sad that Ron Paul did not win the Republican nomination.

Looking To The Future: An onus to New Republicanism?

David Brooks makes the case five major social changes will enter us into an era of legislative activism. This is probably one of the most enlightening articles I have read in a long time.

However, be warned: right now there is a trend to shift the party of Reagan into the party of Roosevelt.

According to Brooks, Republicans and Constitutionalists must have answers for five defining social problems of the next era:

1)   Erosion of the social contract. As big firms are less likely to provide health benefits there will be a desperate need for health care reform.

2)   Meeting our energy needs in a tightening and growing global marketplace.

3)   Restoring the the growth of wages with human capital initiatives.

4)   Financial market reform

5)   Infrastructure Reform.

Generally, I agree with Brooks. Domestic economic issues will carry much more dominance that foreign policy. Which begs the question: how can Republicans work to keep government small and taxes low while meeting the challenges before us? Republicans must return to the role of being the taxpayers advocate. We must stand up for our inherent constitutiional rights. Any effort short of that will dilute and minimize our impact on these pressing issues.

But then again, as the WSJ Editorial Board points out, those who would have the GOP return to its roots have a tough fight ahead of them. Let us hope they are wrong, this whole big government conservatism thing just reeks desperation.
