For My Mother: MS Walk 2009, Saturday April 18th- Can I count on you to meet our goal of $500?

Most of my readers who know me personally know that my mother has Multiple Sclerosis. She was diagnosed when I was little. Thankfully, very thankfully, she has been able to lead a completely normal life. Still, there is always that lingering fear in the back of the mind that this year test’s might show increased MS activity.

My wife and I have a team every year for the National MS Society Walk MS event.

I don’t make it a habit of asking my readers to support every cause I do. I think I asked my readers to support Ron Paul’s Campaign For Liberty. But I don’t ask for donations for myself, nor do I intend to.

But, let me break with tradition: Will you help me help my mother? Will you help me help others whose lives have been affected by MS?

We want to raise a modest $500 for the National MS Society’s efforts for MS research. No, I don’t support them on everything. The National MS Society supports embryonic stem cell research. Let me be clear: I absolutely do not support the taking of life, liberty or property of another for the gain of another. Embryonic stem cell research is wrong, flat out wrong. But I am also not willing to sit on the sidelines and not do what I can now to help find a cure.

Let me tell you a little about my mother. She is one of the most caring, devoted parent and grandparent’s you will ever meet. When her kids moved away, she and my father picked up and moved out of a house of memories to be closer to the grandchildren. Someday I would like to share with you my readers the stories of the Growing Tree.

My mother has devoted her life to children. She works tirelessly as a playground supervisor, as she has my whole life, helping to make sure that children are safe and sound at school. I have heard story after story growing up of children I didn’t know whom I know my mother has probably had a huge influence in their life. My mother also volunteers countless hours to the school to make sure that the activities of the school are not short-staffed.

Let me be blunt: give me $5. $10. .50 cents. Lets make this the LedeAgenda MS Walk 2009 Money bomb.
