‘Tea Party’ Polls Better Than ‘Republican Party’

From Rasmussen:

Running under the Tea Party brand may be better in congressional races than being a Republican.

In a three-way Generic Ballot test, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds Democrats attracting 36% of the vote. The Tea Party candidate picks up 23%, and Republicans finish third at 18%. Another 22% are undecided.

Among voters not affiliated with either major party, the Tea Party comes out on top. Thirty-three percent (33%) prefer the Tea Party candidate, and 30% are undecided. Twenty-five percent (25%) would vote for a Democrat, and just 12% prefer the GOP.

Among Republican voters, 39% say they’d vote for the GOP candidate, but 33% favor the Tea Party option.

Seventy percent (70%) of Republican voters have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party movement while only seven percent (7%) offer an unfavorable view. Interestingly, 49% of Democrats have no opinion one way or the other.

Forty-one percent (41%) of all voters nationwide say Republicans and Democrats are so much alike that a new party is needed to represent the American people. Republicans are evenly divided on this question, while Democrats overwhelmingly disagree. However, among those not affiliated with either major party, 60% agree that a new party is needed, and only 25% disagree. Men are far more likely than women to believe a new party is needed.

Perhaps the most telling statistic:

Among the Political Class, not a single respondent picked the Tea Party candidate.

Enough said, I believe.

Proof Source- There IS A Boycott Against TARP Banks, GM and Chrysler

From Yahoo:

Public opposition to the auto bailouts may translating into consumer buying decisions, with 46% of Americans now saying they are more likely to buy a car from Ford because it did not take government money to stay in business.

…

At the same time, nearly one-out-of-five Americans (19%) say someone in their family or a friend has chosen not to buy a car from GM or Chrysler because they took bailout money. Fifty-six percent (56%) say family or friends have not steered clear of GM or Chrysler for this reason, but 26% are not sure.

Most Americans (53%) continue to believe that it is at least somewhat likely that the government, now that it has substantial ownership stakes in GM and Chrysler, will pass laws and regulations giving those two automakers an unfair advantage over Ford. Thirty percent (30%) say it’s very likely. This suspicion has lessened slightly since May.

However, one-out-of-three investors (33%) say it is very likely that the government will give an unfair advantage to the bailed-out automakers.

GM’s recent emergence from bankruptcy with government help seems to have done little to change Americans’ minds. Only 17% say they are more likely to buy a GM car now that the company is out of bankruptcy, while 22% say they are less likely to do so. Fifty-nine percent (59%) say the end of GM’s bankruptcy has no impact on their buying decisions.

Just 13% of Americans say someone in their family or one of their friends has bought a car from Ford recently because it did not take a government bailout. For 73%, that’s not the case, and 14% aren’t sure.

In June, only 42% of those who currently own a GM car said they were even somewhat likely to buy a GM product for their next car.

Forty-one percent (41%) of Americans expect the quality of GM cars to get worse now that the federal government is the company’s majority owner. Just 19% believe the quality of GM cars will improve.

A Rapid And Sudden Change Of Course

titanic.jpg

Stopping this ship from hitting the proverbial glacier will not be easy. We are literally staring death in the face, facing a crises that grows exponentially with every announcement of a new government program, new government assistance, or new regulations on the free market.

Many people have ratcheted up their self-reliance preparedness in the last few months. The sales of guns, ammunition, food storage, and the most essential lifestyle survival gear have gone through the roof as people are seeking peace of mind for increasingly turbulent and unpredictable times. The United States Mint has even had to suspend the sales of proof and uncirculated Gold and Silver American Eagles to meet the demand for bullion gold and silver purchases.

The nation is gripped with fear; we are out of control. The shackles or restraints on the Government by the Constitution will be willfully and blatantly ignored until otherwise stopped. The fear is that there will be no end to the increasing level of governmental control, regulation, and intrusion into our private lives. If necessary, it seems, the Constitution will be rendered moot after the fact once the laws are in place for complete governmental control.

And to be honest, this fear is justified. I mean, think about it, what sort of basic human needs will the government not provide for you? For the impoverished, we have welfare, for the homeless we have community housing, the sick, national health care, for the environment, Cap and Trade. Every aspect of our lives, from waking to eating to sleeping to working to commuting to rearing children to investing to food safety, you name it. All will be under the command of the government control grid.

We are all waiting. Getting prepared. But for what?

Our Founding Fathers have faced this fear before. After countless oppressions and struggles and a brutal war for independence, we gained freedom, liberty. That sacred trust was that our social compact with one another, the Constitution, would uphold Natural Law. That is, our Founders placed their trust in a system that inherently said our rights end where another person’s begin. We are to be free from force and compulsion to the greatest extent possible. Our rights were to be a positive prohibition against government action.

The sales of gold, guns and food are all going through the roof for a reason: we all recognize that unless we all take sudden and immediate action to stop this overwhelming tide of socialism our country will be lost forever. We are fearful of losing our own self-control, and to be prepared, many are stockpiling basic human essentials in an effort to prevent the loss of free will.

Like our Founders, we have a mighty rEVOLution to engage. And with rEVOLution comes responsibility.

First, we need a cause.

For my part in the battle, I have chosen to become involved with the Campaign For Liberty. Many of my dear readers are probably rolling their eyes right now (another C4L post Luke?). The Campaign For Liberty’s mission is to, “promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity”. In other words, the Campaign is picking up were Ron Paul’s Presidential bid left off.

I am not suggesting that the C4L is the only political organization worthy of involvement. In fact, I think it will take many different organizations working together and finding agreement on a whole host of issues to find solid, cohesive momentum in a single direction. The point is to find a group that you can relate to and get involved.

For the record, Americans For Prosperity, The American Liberty Alliance, and Freedom Works all seem to be legitimate organizations seeking to gear Americans towards liberty and against socialism. There may be more, feel free to list them in comments, these are just the ones that seem to be the most organized, the broadest in agenda and most national in scope.

Second, we need the candidates and campaign volunteers.

I would like to suggest that the bailouts, the stimulus package, hell the whole gambit of spending and government expansion over the last decade, has inspired a whole new generation of political candidates. Many of them are operating under the broad and as-yet undefined mantra of the Freedom Movement. RJ Harris, Adam Kokesh, Peter Schiff and Rand Paul are a few stepping forward for the first time. But know this: the movement is nationwide, and at nearly every level.

In the loosest possible terms I will define the Freedom Movement’s purpose as this: to maximize individual liberty through strict adherence to the United States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. From there, every candidate will differ, but the goal is the same: a sudden and dramatic change of course from the direction of Bush/Obama socialism.

The Titanic sank because it spotted the iceberg a mere 350 yards to late. What will the fate of the USS Constitution be? By getting involved passionately, aggressively, and uncompromisingly, we may have just enough time left to change the course of history. And this time, we might actually get strict adherence to the Constitution.

The Bailout Court Fights Begin

From BreitBart:

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Monday delayed Chrysler’s sale of most of its assets to a group led by Italy’s Fiat, but didn’t say how long the deal will remain on hold.
Ginsburg said in an order that the sale is “stayed pending further order,” indicating that the delay may only be temporary.

Chrysler LLC has said the sale must close by June 15, or Fiat Group SpA has the option to walk away, leaving the Auburn Hills, Mich., automaker with little option but to liquidate.

A federal appeals court in New York approved the sale Friday but gave opponents until 4 p.m. EDT Monday to try to get the Supreme Court to intervene. Ginsburg issued her order right before the deadline.

Ginsburg could decide on her own whether to end the delay, or she could ask the full court to decide. It is unclear when she or the court will act.

Chrysler said it had no comment until it receives further information from the court.

Chrysler claims the agreement with Fiat is the best deal it can get for its assets and is critical to the company’s plan to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

But a trio of Indiana state pension and construction funds, which hold a small part of Chrysler’s debt, have been fighting the sale, claiming that it unfairly favors Chrysler’s unsecured stakeholders ahead of secured debtholders like themselves.

As part of Chrysler’s restructuring plan, the automaker’s secured debtholders will receive $2 billion, or about 29 cents on the dollar, for their combined $6.9 billion in debt. The Indiana funds bought their $42.5 million in debt in July 2008 for 43 cents on the dollar.

The funds also are challenging the constitutionality of the Treasury Department’s use of money from the Troubled Asset Relief Program to supply Chrysler’s bankruptcy protection financing. They say the government did so without congressional authority.

Consumer groups and individuals with product-related lawsuits also are contesting a condition of the Chrysler sale that would release the company from product liability claims related to vehicles it sold before the “New Chrysler” partnered with Fiat is created.

Individuals with claims against “Old Chrysler” would have to seek compensation from the parts of the company not being sold to Fiat. But those assets have limited value and it’s doubtful that there will be anything available to pay consumer claims.

There are so many problems with TARP. So many unconstitutional acts of government.

The injustices of the TARP Bailouts

- placing unsecured stakeholders above secured creditors in a bankruptcy re-organization

- pushing TARP as a legal mechanism to buy up “troubled assets” (remember that line?) from mortgage corporations and then turning around and using those funds for direct “capital infusions” and common and preferred stock purchases, thus often assuming majority control and ownership.

- voiding consumer safety laws for the security of its own “capital infusion”

- creating a Fiat sale to intentionally undermine a orderly bankruptcy, leaving people with a legitimate interest in a bankruptcy fight left with only 20-25% of the company to claim in assets

- eliminating auto dealerships based on donations to political candidates

- putting a 31 year old in charge of the bankruptcy reorganization of the auto industry despite no prior experience in the field

- refusing to disclose which banks have received “capital infusions” (bailouts)

- refusing to allow banks that were forced to accept bailout monies to repay them

- changing the terms and conditions of the bailouts after they were given

Why we should be hopeful

Legal Summary of the TARP Legislation

Constitutional Law Professor Blog: Problems with TARP and Auto Maker Bailouts

Freedom Works: TARP is Unconstitutional

CATO: Is The Bailout Constitutional?

The Heritage Foundation: The Housing Bailout: Constitutional Infirmities Remain, but a Ray of Hope

The problem is that were application of the TARP legislation is not blatantly unconstitutional (for failing to follow the proper legal intent of the legislation- that is purchasing of bad loans) it clearly is not included within the scope of the TARP model (bailouts of credit card companies & auto makers).

What We Can Do To Support A Sound Economy

This fight can be won. But let us not let our guard down: these cases will mearly open the door to highlighting the real culprit behind inflation, economic destruction and slavery to debt- The Federal Reserve System. But that is a story for another day (although if you are interested check out and support Ron Paul’s ‘Audit The Fed’ bill- H.R.1207. Also, LewRockwell.com- The Case Against The Fed).

But in the meantime know that we still have a message to send. We must still be boycotting those who have benefited from the theft of the taxpayers. We must boycott any financial institution that received TARP monies, General Motors Government Motors and Chrysler. We must refuse to purchase from any company that has participated in tyranny.

We must stand united:  we demand the Constitution, not socialism!

National Council For A New America AKA The John McCain RINO Club

The Republican Party, reeling from two devastating election cycle losses, has put together The National Council For A New America to help, “reshape the party’s image”.

Taken from House Whip Eric Cantor released this statement on the newly from NCNA:

Today, we are launching the National Council for a New America (NCNA), a caucus of Congressional leaders gathering the expertise of national leaders and doers. We hope that will form the foundation of a concerted, policy-based forum to listen to, partner with, and empower the American people with ideas and solutions that speak directly to the needs of our great nation. This forum will engage in a conversation with America that seeks to remove ideological filters, addresses the realities we are confronting, and speaks to the challenges our citizens are facing.

The NCNA will bring together citizens from across the country to begin a dialogue with the American people through a series of forums, town halls, and an online effort that will engage people in a discussion to meet our common challenges and build a stronger country through common-sense ideas. The NCNA will be a dynamic, forward-looking organization that will amplify the common-sense and wisdom of our fellow citizens through a grassroots dialogue with Republican leaders.

However, this is not a Republican-only forum. While we will be guided by our principles of freedom and security, we will seek to include more than just our ideas. This forum will include a wide open policy debate that every American can feel free to participate in. We do this not just to offer an alternative point of view or to be disagreeable. Instead, we want to ask the American people what their hopes and dreams are. Since January, the President and the Democratic Majority in Congress have – rightfully so – put forward their plan for the future, now we must listen, learn and lead through an honest, open conversation with the American people that will result in building policy proposals that will yield the best results for our nation’s long-term success.

I hope I am not reading to much into this. But how “grassroots” can these meetings be when you have already determined the agenda of the party for the future: economy, healthcare, education, energy, and national security? How “grassroots” can these meetings really be when the biggest RINO in the party, John McCain, is the one calling the shots? How “grassroots” can this event really be when you are specifically calling for non-republicans to participate?

I guarantee you that there are more people signed up with the Campaign for Liberty and with TaxDayTeaParty.com than this supposed “grassroots” NCNA organization will ever even engage.

Maybe the Republican leadership doesn’t realize that the base of the party no longer needs them to organize things. We can communicate via Twitter, Facebook and MySpace to the the real ideals that conservatives, constitutionalists and libertarians are thinking. We no longer need their permission to advocate Liberty and Freedom.

Here is another guarantee: should the Republican party ever decide to engage the party base, they will find RINO’s like John McCain completely and wholly disliked by the people who actually donate their time, labor and money into the party coffers.

If the grassroots had any say in the formation of this NCNA John McCain would have no place within it. In fact, if the grassroots of the Republican base truly had a say in recent affairs then John McCain would have been asked to leave the party along with Arlen Specter. Let us never forget that McCain suspended his campaign to vote in favor of the bailouts.

Look, Republicans shouldn’t have to go back to the party, the party should have to go back to them. Cut taxes. Cut government. Let people sink or swim based on their own actions, let them be accountable. Let failing businesses fail. Preserve the free market to give opportunity to new ones. Government is so big, so onerous now that even a mild yearly government growth of 3-4% is worthy of political revolution.

You want to know why the Tax Day Tea Parties were even necessary? Because the Republican party was not doing it’s job. Had the Republicans stood up to the TARP legislation and the expansion of social “benefits” under President Bush, hell really the last eight years of deficit spending, we wouldn’t be in this mess today.

I don’t want answers to come from Washington. I want answers to today’s problems to come from the free market, utilizing the government only when the Constitution specifically authorizes the power to do so. In fact, I will take it a step further, I want my political party to specifically advocate positions that would make it harder for government to intervene in the free market.

But, as it seems, the real patriots are the ones that once again will have to work twice as hard to save the country. Once again fighting with their own party to try and get them to listen to their real agenda: stopping the bailouts and shrinking government, all the while working more hours to support the moochers who are feeding off the social programs that the “big tent” philosophy supports.

Smaller taxes. Less Government. Personal Freedoms and Responsibility.

Can we please get a real call for conservative reform before Obama manages to completely destroy this country? Is that too much to ask?

Fox Must Be Intentionally Trying to Kill Off ‘24′

I have come to the conclusion that Janeane Garofalo must be a plant by Fox to kill off ‘24′.

I am a racist for opposing socialism? I am a racist for demanding that the Federal government stick to its enumerated powers? I am a racist for pointing out that the Federal Reserve is actually the main culprit of the economic crisis?

Not that there aren’t bad apples in every crowd, but I am 100% certain that my opposition to the TARP funds, the bailouts, and socialist nationalization of our economy is rooted in freedom and liberty, in the Constitution.

I find it so unbelievably offensive that the media has chosen to carte blanch ignore the reasons behind the Tea Party movement. I will say it again: I attended and supported the Tea Party protests to oppose the unconstitutional spending found in the Stimulus and TARP legislation. I attended the Tea Party protests because I oppose the socialist takeover of our free markets. I oppose government ownership and control of any industry.

Given the massive political shift that took place on November 4th, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Fox executives made the decision to kill off ‘24′ in favor of a new show with more targeted political themes. What really galls me though, is the manner in which Fox chose to do it. For the fans of Fox’s ‘24′ to be stabbed in the back by one of the most successful shows on the Fox network, one can only wonder how serious Fox ever took the ideas they claimed to favor.

It seems that like with most corporations nowadays, there is no two-way loyalty. As soon as the winds shifted for the product that Fox offered, they moved quickly to make a self-imposed destruction. In this case, they deliberately chose to introduce Jeaneane to the show to offend the show’s core audience.

Mark my words: very soon we will see their newest project unveiled and I am willing to bet it will be  based on the benefits of a Big-Brother state in a post-modern economically collapsed world. In other words, much as ‘24′ was tailored to the Bush administration, very soon the winds will shift to a new show showing the virtues of an Obama rule.

We have only one real choice: it is time to turn off our TVs. This time for good.
