“You Lie, Not True”- Seems To Apply To Everything Coming Out Of Washington These Days

I think main-stream institutions are having a hard time understanding exactly what is going on it voters heads these days. Rep. Joe Wilson is just another example in how far faith in congress has fallen, and how deep the undertones of hostility are to this brave new world.

From the Washington Post:

As President Obama addressed a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night, the nation’s rapidly deteriorating discourse hit yet another low.

It happened at 8:40 pm, just after the president vowed to lawmakers that his health-care reform proposals would not provide benefits to illegal immigrants. As millions of Americans watched from home, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) shouted at the president from his fifth-row seat: “You lie!”

Murmurs of “ooh” filled the stunned chamber. Nancy Pelosi’s chin dropped. Obama moved on to the next sentence in his speech, about how no federal money would be used to fund abortion. “Not true!” came another shout.

We have reached that moment of desperation. The moment of desperation where all protocol, manners and civility are thrown out and nothing, no matter the sacristy or grandeur, stand in the way.

Rep. Joe Wilson was absolutely right to call Obama out- such forceful displays of contempt and patriotism are needed in an era were muttering opposition to socialism makes you a racist because of the race of our President. Why is the administration and representatives holding speeches, townhalls, and congressional address’s if they cannot face the voters? Why the fuss over these comments if the national health plan plan is as good as you say it is?

Probably because they know critics of  HR.3200 are at least partially right- this bill does appear to force taxpayer funded abortions and will take away free-market choices (IE only “plan approved” policies). Yes, there is language in the bill to restrict services to illegal immigrants, but given the current enforcement level of our immigration laws this provision might as well be entirely and wholly removed from the bill as it will, in time, disappear down the memory hole.

“You Lie”, “Not True”.

These are words for our times.

The Constitution Authorizes An Enumeration, Not Social Engineering

From The Fort Fairfield Journal:

The U.S. Census Bureau has been overstepping the U.S. Constitution’s requirements for a simple enumeration of the citizens for years, but their current plans to mark the GPS location of every address in the U.S. is just the latest in a long list of usurpations of the General Government’s Constitutional authority.

The Bureau of Census is sending its army of workers to every address in the United States within the next couple of months in order to log the Global Positioning System (GPS) location of every American citizen’s home.

Cataloging the physical location of people’s homes is far removed from the Constitutional grant of authority to the government to merely count how many people are living in the several states in order to assign an appropriate number of Representatives to them in the U.S. House of Representatives1 so, there must be another purpose for this action.

The term “Census” is Latin for to appraise or to assess a value thereon. In Roman history it was a registration or count of citizens and their property to determine taxation.”2

The spirit of the word ‘Census,’ as to appraise or assess a value on the citizens’ labor and their property, does not appear anywhere in the U.S. Constitution, only an enumeration (counting) of people every ten years in order to appropriate Representatives.

The Bureau of Census is a relatively new creation, not actually in existence in the beginning of the United States. It was established temporarily in 1899 and as a permanent office within the Department of Interior in 1902, just a few years prior to our nation surrendering its money supply to a private cabal of international banks. In 1903, the Bureau of Census - now functioning as a de facto “Bureau of Appraisals” was absorbed by the newly created Department of Commerce and Labor, which was later separated into two separate departments. The Bureau of Census (Appraisals) was reorganized in 1950 and remains in the Commerce Department to this day.3

Congress created the Bureau of Census (Appraisals) to begin the laborious task of cataloging, serial numbering and tracking the value of all personal and business property in the United States, as well as the humans therein for the purposes of appraising their value and preparing them for use as collateral against the nation’s debt under a proposed fiat debt money scheme to be implemented later on in 1913.

Ten years after its inception, the Department of Commerce was restructured as a stand-alone entity separating Labor into its own Department (15 USC 1501). The private, for-profit corporation, known as the Federal Reserve System was formed in the same year as the restructuring of the Department of Commerce. Under the new Federal Reserve System’s plan, all new money would be brought into existence via loans to the government and citizens. The Bureau of Census (Appraisals), as a division of the Department of Commerce, is charged with keeping track of the number of human chattels whose labor is pledged against the national debt via the Federal income tax. The Bureau of Census (Appraisals) also appraises and keeps track of manufacturers, mineral industries, distributive trades, construction industries, agriculture, religious organizations and transportation. All towns, cities, and municipalities are required to annually submit a report of all new construction, multi-family units, new businesses, and any losses to the Bureau of Census (Appraisals) for the purposes of keeping a current valuation of all property in the United States.4

Just prior to the bankruptcy of the United States in June, 1933, the Bureau of Census (Appraisals) undertook a bold new venture. During the month of April, 1930, over 100,000 persons were engaged in taking the census. At that time the usual questions regarding race, color, sex, age, occupation, whether married or single, and whether able to write were asked. In addition were such questions as the value of your home and whether owned or rented, whether you were the owner of a radio, and detailed questions regarding unemployment.5 This information was needed in order to assess a value on the chattels and collateral the Federal Reserve banks needed before loaning money to the soon to be bankrupt U.S. government.

The Under Secretary for Economic Affairs compiles all Census data and makes it available to those who are in need of it - such as banks seeking to determine how well a state or geographic area of people are able to collateralize a bond issue (loan) with their currently existing labor and property.

The current scheme of using unwitting census workers to mark the GPS location of every address in the United States, under the banner of a Constitutional enumeration of the citizens, has nothing to do with counting people in order to appropriate Representatives to Congress. Instead, it appears to be an unconstitutional ploy to catalog and track all citizens’ property which has been pledged to the banks and creditors who hold the notes on the United States’ now $11+ trillion national debt.

“We are using the GPS data to help our census takers find your home when they come around next year,” said one census worker. However, when asked since she was able to find the person’s house without a GPS coordinate to begin with, why was a GPS coordinate necessary for another census worker, she was unable to explain.

Some have speculated that the GPS coordinates are for the Federal Government’s future use in silencing protesters, confiscating firearms or foreclosing on homes on behalf of the foreign banks and countries who have loaned the U.S. trillions of dollars in unpayable debt. Whatever this government’s intentions are, history has shown they are not benevolent.

The Fort Fairfield Journal contacted Paul Powell, Partnership Coordinator for the Boston Regional Census Center to ask what Constitutional authority the Bureau of Census had to catalog GPS coordinates, what the information was being used for, what other information was being collected about the address at the time the GPS coordinates were taken, and what steps the Bureau of Census was taking to protect the privacy of those who chose not to allow their home to be cataloged as such. Mr. Powell acknowledged receiving the questions, but refused to comment or provide answers.

While the Bureau of Census (Appraisals) may have enacting legislation to grant its authority by fiat, the U.S. Constitution has granted no power to the Federal government to do anything other than count people, with respect to the Census. Therefore, the Census workers’ cataloging the GPS positions of every home address in the U.S. is blatantly unlawful activity initiated on behalf of the private banking industry now running Congress. According to the 10th amendment, any power not granted to the Federal government, or prohibited by the Constitution to the States, is reserved to the States or the people respectively.

Remember, the Constitution authorizes enumeration ONLY (Article I Section 2). Any question above and beyond the number of people and number of persons of voting age is beyond the scope of the Founders’ intent.

“The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.” Article I, Sec. 2, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution.

Once again historical revisionists would have us overlook the fact that the Founders’ written style- in this case capitalizing “Enumeration” was a signal to the legitimate powers of the United States government. Powers specifically delegated to the Federal Government were outlined and set apart from the duties of government- that is responsibilities that the Federal Government had within the context of the limitations placed on it.

In this case, the Constitution only authorizes Enumeratory powers and any constitutionally legitimate law written under this clause of the United States Constitution will limit itself to the powers of population and household Enumeration. Enumeration, as defined by the Merriam-Webster means “to count”.

Because the Census it used to determine House seat apportionment, it is appropriate for the Census to ask, in addition to how many people are at a home, how many of them are of voting age. However, any other questions (how many guns, electricity source, religion, et al) is clearly beyond the plain and clear language of the original intent.

For my household Obama will get the following- 2 and 3. Two people of legal voting age and three total household members.

BTW, worse case scenario it is only a $100 fine for NOT answering (higher fines if you give deliberately false answers). $100 is worth forcing the government to stick to its enumerated power in this blogger’s humble opinion.

What Is Wrong With The Party Of ‘NO’?

I don’t make it a habit of checking out the Democratic Party website, but occasionally research and proper perspective balance leads one down that path as a libertarian constitutionalist.

I was greatly amused, ecstatic, that I found this: The Party Of NO

That’s right. House Republicans have stood up to Obama “long enough” (just over 100 days) and Democrats aren’t going to take it anymore.

The Party Of No.

It has a nice ring doesn’t it?

I enjoy being the ‘Party Of NO’. I enjoy delivering NO Republican votes for Obama’s socialism. I enjoy standing strong and united in the face of tyranny. I enjoy opposing Socialism. I enjoy stopping the destruction of our Constitution. I enjoy saying ‘thanks-but-no-thanks’ to government expansion.

This is what I want out of my party. I don’t want expansion of any government program. I don’t want any new government benefits. In fact, given our current budget deficit, we need to give serious consideration to shrinking or ending the benefits we have. Like parents to spoiled children, “no” is the appropriate response when your government is stepping out of line.

This is what Eric Cantor said shortly after the House Republicans stood up and did not deliver a single vote for Obama’s spending bill:

The second-ranking House Republican, Rep. Eric Cantor (Va.), put it more bluntly. “What transpired . . . and will give us a shot in the arm going forward is that we are standing up on principle and just saying no,” he said.

Strong Republican opposition will be the only thing that can stop a nation drunk on excess from finally going over the edge in a radical and transformitory self-destruction.

Locally, here in my home state of Idaho, the House Republicans are fighting one of the first of these battles.

Governor Butch Otter, elected largely for his popular libertarian leaning public perception, has gone from friend of the taxpayer to a plan for the future realist. Arguing that Idaho needs to adequately fund road projects now to avoid increased costs in the future, Otter has effectively alienated himself from the political base of his own party by arguing relentlessly for increased taxes on gasoline. So far, the Idaho House has refused to capitulate to his demands, voting down not once, not twice but voting down gasoline tax increases seven times.

In return, Otter has vetoed 33 bills in an attempt to display his executive power. The Idaho House has given no sign of caving in to Governor Otter who has threatened to prolong the Legislative process until they give in. Indeed, many may be tempted in the face of overwhelming pressure to end this Legislative session and promote more bad public policy of increased taxation and government growth.

The newest proposals from Otter’s office would raise gasoline taxes far in the future and only reflect more of the “buy now, pay later” mentality of debt that got us into this mess in the first place.

This battle is the first of many that Republicans are going to have to face to restore a national identity. We will be tested more now than at any other time in our party’s history. Our ideals are seen as outdated and counter-productive to effective political discussion. However, I will argue that it is because we abandoned our traditional message- lower taxes, less government and personal freedom- to give out political favors to those who would vote for us that we have become ineffective.

The way back is simple- we need to cut government and cut it drastically. It is no longer enough for Republicans to be against new taxes and new growth, we must seek to turn back what we already have. Like the family that is overspent or is facing a sudden and drastic downsize in their income, all things must be on the table to reach that zero-sum game. Remember, just because a government program is doing good doesn’t mean that it is right for government to be doing it at all.

Yes the battles will be tough, but this vision also offers the most hope for the future. We must be able to clearly contrast the government controlled ideals of socialism with that of Freedom and Liberty.

To do that, Republicans must not be afraid to be the ‘Party Of NO’.

Banks Set To Return Social Engineering Bailout Monies

In a huge turn of events, banks now seem to be fighting back against the stealth nationalization of our financial system.

From NYTimes.com:

The list of demands keeps getting longer.

Financial institutions that are getting government bailout funds have been told to put off evictions and modify mortgages for distressed homeowners. They must let shareholders vote on executive pay packages. They must slash dividends, cancel employee training and morale-building exercises, and withdraw job offers to foreign citizens.

As public outrage swells over the rapidly growing cost of bailing out financial institutions, the Obama administration and lawmakers are attaching more and more strings to rescue funds.

The conditions are necessary to prevent Wall Street executives from paying lavish bonuses and buying corporate jets, some experts say, but others say the conditions go beyond protecting taxpayers and border on social engineering.

Some bankers say the conditions have become so onerous that they want to return the bailout money. The list includes small banks like the TCF Financial Corporation of Wayzata, Minn., and Iberia Bank of Lafayette, La., as well as giants like Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo.

They say they plan to return the money as quickly as possible or as soon as regulators set up a process to accept the refunds. On Tuesday, Signature Bank of New York announced that because of new executive pay restrictions in the economic stimulus package, it notified the Treasury that it intended to return the $120 million it had received from the government only three months ago.

Other institutions like Johnson Bank of Racine, Wis., initially expressed interest in seeking bailout funds but have now changed their minds. Bank executives told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that one reason they rejected the government money was to avoid any disruption in the bank’s role in the local community, including supporting the zoo or opera company if they chose to.

One of the biggest concerns of the banks is that the program lets Congress and the administration pile on new conditions at any time.

The demands to modify mortgages or forestall evictions are especially onerous, some bank executives and experts say, because they could prompt some institutions to take steps that could lead to greater losses.

I was hoping this would happen. Quite simply, we cannot let the government have ownership interest in nearly every bank in America. Finance, money, is ultimitaly the root of all ownership, of all commerce, of the free market. Once government is allowed to dictate the terms of a loan, it’s only matter of time before the rest of society must follow suit.

That banks, mind you big and small ones, have stepped up and said, “no” is impressive. I have a higher respect for Wells Fargo out of this financial mess than I did before. They fought having to take the bailout monies, and being forced to, are seeking to return it as quickly as possible. It is becoming clear which institution’s in America have outlived their products (GM, Chrysler) and which ones will not resort to mooching and rely instead on their own innovation (Wells Fargo).

This is the audacity of NOPE. This is what I talked about in yesterday’s post. We can restore Liberty, Freedom. We need only say, “thanks, but no thanks” to the tyrannical hand of Uncle Sam. It all starts with opting-out.

The Future Of Liberty

Civilian National Security Forces. Centralized educational oversight. Ballooning deficit with no regard for the constitution. Increased police and regulatory aggression. Nationalization of nearly every financial sector in America- the root of all true American ownership. Hope and change, it seems, is but a cruel moniker for overwhelming, crushing government rule.

But we need not despair, we merely need to exercise our civil [economic] rights. Yes, they will try to tax and regulate our options to their pre-determined worldviews. The free market, our most sacred principle, is our solution.

Consider this, they will not be able to indoctrinate you if they have not even been able to “educate”you.

I would like to put this idea out there: conservatives, constitutionalists and libertarians need to empower their own rights by empowering their home.

I am talking about home-schooling, home-based churches and even the most basic property-right principle of homesteading. I am talking about the sacred principles of family, freedom of speech, religion and association.

Ok, maybe not strictly “home-school” per se- private, charter or otherwise free-market principles can easily offer much higher quality of education than that of state-run government indoctrination schools. And think about it, even if private school is out of reach or otherwise unavailable, that doesn’t mean that you, as a parent, can’t educate your children on what the Declaration, the Constitution or the Bill of Rights means. By empowering ourselves, we can re-root the Tree Of Liberty.

And consider this: by empowering our homes, our property, we can set up our lives to avoid having to turn to the government for help. That is the trap that the New World Order wants. They want you to forget that your rights, your family are sovereign. They want to create an artificial system were you have no choice but to turn to the government when times go bad.

I am not saying it will be easy. But Liberty doesn’t have to die. In the face of overwhelming government amplification of its own significance and self-worth we can take back what is rightfully ours. Our rights are not given, they are loaned, by us with the most strictest of conditions- that we can dissolve these bands when government ceases to exist for the purpose of protecting our rights.

By re-learning what it means to be free we can stop incessant, debilitating and nefarious government growth.

If no one turns to their solutions, they will have to re-tool their approach.

Quite simply, it is peaceful social protest. We will not live outside of our principles.

It’s the spirit of 1776. Reborn.
