The key to the Ron Paul Revolution:
During the debates in the Republican Presidential primary, even though I am a 10-term sitting Representative Member of Congress, I was challenged more than once on my Republican credentials. The fact that I was repeatedly asked how I could be a Republican when I was talking a different language than the other candidates answers the question of how the Republican Party can slip so far so fast.
My rhetorical answer at the time was simple: Why should one be excluded from the Republican Party for believing and always voting for:
• Limited government power
• A balanced budget
• Personal liberty
• Strict adherence to the Constitution
• Sound money
• A strong defense while avoiding all undeclared wars
• No nation-building and no policing the world
How can a party that still pretends to be the party of limited government distance itself outright from these views and expect to maintain credibility? Since the credibility of the Republican Party has now been lost, how can it regain credibility without embracing these views, or at least showing respect for them?
I concluded my answer by simply stating the Republican Party had lost its way and must reassess its values. And that is what needs to be done in a hurry.

To legitimately invoke the commerce power, Congress must show not only that a federal program is necessary but also that it is proper- that is, the program does not violate other foundational principles, such as federalism, separation of powers, and limited government. Congress has not made that showing.
Indeed, the bailout quite clearly violates the Constitution’s separation-of-powers principle- in particular, what has become known as the nondelegation doctrine, which states that Congress may not delegate its legislative power to any other entity, including Cabinet departments of the executive branch. Article 1 of the Constitution states, “All legislative Powers … shall be vested in Congress.” A plain reading of the text shows that lawmaking is for the legislative branch, which does not include the Treasury Department. Yet when Congress authorized the bailout package, it gave Secretary Henry Paulson unprecedented power to act as a super-legislature.

RCP confirms what those of us on the right have been saying for years, the liberals descent into “quieting inappropriate speech and lies” borders on fascism.
LATimes.com: $700b bailout wasn’t enough. Taxpayers, “need to be asked to pony up more”.
Don’t say I didn’t warn ya: more evidence of the deliberate, intentional and planned, “financial crises”.
A sampling of the coming state budget deficits: NY, AZ, CA, ID and CT
And last but not least:Dems want another “economic stimulus package”, because the first one worked so well.

RedState.com: $700b, “We just wanted a really large number”
Spooky. And to think if 23 more representatives had switched their votes this “not based on any particular data point” law would of been enacted.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Oh yeah, and:

Quite simply, the followers of the New World Order are using this “crises” to nationalize our economy, our banking and finance systems. Once you control the purse strings, the rest is but a few short steps away.
I feel the situation is becoming quite dire. Freedom lost can never be regained, short of a new rebellion. Will we as Americans reject the call of liberty, the call of the free markets, the call of limited government?
Maybe it is that people no longer understand the basic fundamental principals that this country is founded on. Maybe people just don’t care. But in either case, I find it hard to believe that this financial crises is anything but intentional.
Yes thats right, I said it. I believe that the followers of the New World Order have intentionally created this financial meltdown in our country by printing fake money and then putting it into play in a false “free market” situation. We are not free when a vast, vast majority of mortgages in this country are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government (Fannie Mae/Mac).
To be free, you must have the freedom to fail. On the converse, freedom implicitly gives us the right to take our success, our profits, and to use them toward our own measure of life’s rewards. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit Of Happiness.
Not all endeavors succeed. Sometimes the end comes gracefully, sometimes we crash and burn. But like your intrinsic right to keep the measure of your own work, you must all reap the consequences of your own actions. You must be responsible for what you contribute (or take away from) society.
Recently, Joe Biden called paying higher taxes, “a patriotic duty”. I sternly, coldly, flatly and viscerally reject that premise. Taxation is compulsory. Taxation is theft of a person’s contribution to society. No altruistic good can be gained from a system that operates with force.
Welfare is the ultimate insult to humanity. Welfare devalues your own ability to contribute and be productive to society. Implicit in the premise of government backed welfare is that the free market, that liberty, is not universal, that our rights do not precede government, that we do not have a right to keep our own property.
And that is exactly what is wrong with these bailouts. It is welfare for some of the largest corporate organizations in America. Running a successful business means planning for all stages of the business cycle- expansion, peak, contraction and trough. What these bailouts imply is that the free market business cycle is wrong, and that freedom and liberty, along with its consequences, shouldn’t apply to organizations that are “too big to fail”.
Let the market work. Let AIG, Fannie and Freddie, Countrywide fail. New entities will spring up in their place to meet the markets demands. Liberty demands that others be given the chance to succeed where some couldn’t. This abuse of taxpayer money is an egregious violation of the sacred principals found in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence. We must stop and ask ourselves- is this an intentional threat to liberty? It certainly seems so.

Even though the Big Three auto-makers:
1) Make cars with MPG that people do not want to drive
2) Charge more than people want to spend
3) Have less quality than their overseas competitors
4) Refuse to address labor union contracts as their biggest source of financial difficulty
5) Insistently package add-ons (such as OnStar or GPS devices) that people don’t really want or need in their autos (which in turn increases the price even more).
6) Refuse to listen to market demands for smaller autos and hybrid technology
No, apparently now Detroit is “too big to fail” (ala Fannie Mae).
As every conservative and constitutionalist warned: the massive rush of nationalizing our economy has begun thanks to government meddling in our formerly free economy.
I hope those of you that bought a house bigger than you could really afford with a loan that you knew would bite you in the ass feel good now. This slippery slope is really more a cliff, a descent into a place where innovation is punished, initiative is regulated and freedoms controlled. Let us hope sanity makes a comeback soon- to be free means you must also have the freedom to fail. A premise, I’m afraid, we are no longer willing to accept.
Isn’t progress great?

The Business And Media Institute gives this shot across the brow: a return of the fairness doctrine would compel conservative websites and blogs, like yours truly, to give both political viewpoints.
Remember that article a few days back where liberals were threatening those who criticize Mr. Hopenchange? The Fairness Doctrine has the exact same chilling effect as that promoted by Accountable America. Unable to convince you they will now coerce you, backed with the full force and power of the federal government.
Let me digress for a moment, because it is relevant and timely here.
I was asked the other day what the purpose of my blog is. It’s not that complicated really. I seek to advance the conservative agenda by empowering my readers with a timely discussion of current events as they relate to the constitution and limited government. I believe, as a lot of people do, that there is a massive effort to supplant individual rights with government benefits. I find this to be contrary to the founding fathers and a direct threat to our national sovereignty. In short, I hope my blog serves as a warning against the big government authoritarianism that the liberals promote.
So, how does this relate to the discussion of the Fairness Doctrine? And really, what does this have to do with conservatism and libertarianism? Allow me to explain.
I advance my own ideas on this blog. Yes, I link articles and discussions as they are timely and relevant. But the overall stream of thought and commentary is mine. Furthermore, I pay to have my blog hosted. As anyone proud of his or her work would proclaim, this is my work and I am damn proud of it.
The concept of the Fairness Doctrine is an insult to my intelligence and a flagrant violation of my first amendment rights. To my liberal socialist friends out there, if you want to advance your own ideas feel free to email me, I will hook you up my web host who will assist you with the Word Press programming. This is still a free society at the moment, please feel free to start your own work.
But let me make it quite clear: you will never be allowed equal space on my blog. The way I look at the world, your ideas, policies, and social preferences are a direct threat to the constitution of the United States. I will not give you the pleasure of parading your socialism around as if it is equal to a constitutional worldview.
That’s because it is not. A constitutional worldview guarantees individual liberty, promotes human life, is based on the free market and free exchange of ideas. A constitutional worldview limits the size, scope and authority of government to only the powers that are absolutely necessary to preserve, protect and defend our inalienable civil rights.
Liberals on the other hand seem to think that there should be no restrictions on the scope of government. Private corporation bailouts are ok, after all taxation isn’t really for each to pay his or her fair share, but rather to promote such subjective goals as “fairness” and “equality”. Our constitutional rights are guaranteed only so long as you live a lifestyle that is in harmony with the politically correct goals of the state. Oh, and don’t even think about questioning such noble social undertakings such as welfare, global warming initiatives and the plight of the illegal immigrant. Because after all, the government is our caretaker.
Liberals and conservatives aren’t just on opposite pages in my eyes, they are on whole opposite countries.
So, in other words, the liberals’ ideas aren’t worthy of fairness in my eyes. And yes, you can quote me on that.
UPDATE 8-14-2008
Spooky how many people out there are willing to embrace facism. Rasmussen Reports released a survey today indicating 47% of people favor government mandated “fairness doctrine” and another 31% feel the same for websites and blogs. I guess the good news out of this is that at least they still are not in the majority?

There is a full blown effort being undertaken to silence the opponents of Mr. Hopenchange.
They call themselves “Accountable America”. I call them Socialist-Fascist Youth, because that is exactly what they are.
This group is of course being run by former MoveOn.org lead-Bush attack man Tom Matzzie.
Fascism is most easily spread by being intimidated into silence. Ponder this, from the article in NYTimes.com:
Led by Tom Matzzie, a liberal political operative who has been involved with some prominent left-wing efforts in recent years, the newly formed nonprofit group, Accountable America, is planning to confront donors to conservative groups, hoping to create a chilling effect that will dry up contributions.
…
The warning letter is intended as a first step, alerting donors who might be considering giving to right-wing groups to a variety of potential dangers, including legal trouble, public exposure and watchdog groups digging through their lives.
So what’s the second step? The gulags? Political re-education camps? I forgot the High Priest Obamamessiah issued a decree that the First Amendment doesn’t apply if you’re a conservative republican. Apparently you only have freedom of association if your views align with the politically correct indoctrination. Either that, or you’re just too stupid to have valid opinions anyway, at least according to the NYTimes.
As one commenter on MichelleMalkin.com put it:
Threaten me?
Be prepared for a response. I do not take threats kindly, nor do I ignore them. I take action against those that threaten me and mine.
This jerk thinks we have no spine, like his followers.
He is about to find out differently.
I couldn’t agree more.
